Marriage Motivation Monday- What is it?

Marriage Motivation MondayOn Mondays we plan to share with you some motivational tips to help you improve your marriage. You can even implement these tips into your life if you’re in a serious relationship. Music is a huge inspiration in our lives and it especially speaks to me, so most likely if it’s me sharing the MMM, I will have a song to go along with it.

One of my goals this month is to hug my husband every day, but not just hug him; I have to initiate it! Showing affection to your spouse is important! Not only does a hug make your spouse feel loved and important, science has proven that it’s good for you! Hugging gets the oxytocin flowing in your body which calms your nervous system and boosts positive emotions. Here is how oxytocin affects your body:

  • It lowers your blood pressure, especially helpful if you’re feeling anxious.
  • It lowers your cortisol (the stress hormone), enabling a higher quality of sleep.
  • It can increase your social connections and a sense of belonging.

There is one catch, though, it has to be a nice long hug! Your hug has to be at least 20 seconds long.

Remember, if you have the right one, it doesn’t take money, power, or fame to make her happy. She only wants YOUR love!
